I'm almost always willing to give something another try. I'd give that a try. Potato salad is always such a popular side dish at get togethers, I was always sad that I didn't like it. I tried it once every year for many years. One year I suddenly liked it and have ever since! It's weird how your tastes can just change like that, isn't it? I used to hate mayo, but during my pregnancy with my oldest son, I craved it....so strange. I now enjoy it. Go figure. Pregnancy changed a lot of things for me. Some of the cravings I had during pregnancy never went away! I've always like fresh, raw vegetables, but would get tired of them quickly. During the last trimester that's all I wanted, and it's still all I want! Speaking of cilantro- I developed a big aversion to that during pregnancy and I haven't quite recovered from it. I can eat a leaf here and there. My husband can eat it a fork full at a time.

It's one of my favorites. As for pregnancy aversions, mine is meat. I've been able to manage it better with my last two children but it still bothers me.

So, I would eat just rice and soy-sauce when we went to such restaurants. It makes me laugh now to look back, considering my family like Asian food so much, and I am always making home versions of it!

steak-a-tu-fe (raw hamburger meat with spices) Isn't that called steak tartare? There is definitely a wrong way to do it, I found a pretty good article on bad tartare but it isn't appropriate. If you are using hamburger meat, you are doing it very, very wrong. I will eat it (made properly, like by me or a chef) but I cannot do the egg thing, and I prefer carpaccio.

I don't eat strawberries, any kind of preserve or jam, any kind of baked fruit, pineapple, and absolutely no raw tomato nor anything that has touched a raw tomato. After I'm married I would refuse to kiss my wife if she had eaten raw tomato within the last 24 hours. But because I am a reasonable man, I do make one exception and that is raw tomato when minced very small and put into guacamole.
You could say that fruit is an iffy food group for me. Pretty much anything else goes and I've eaten some odd things.

I read the same thing about stevia (being a genetic thing). To me, it tastes awful...not sweet at all...terrible. It's interesting because they said people who strongly dislike stevia usually don't like licorice either. I absolutely HATE black licorice...ugh...makes me gag just thinking about it...even the smell makes me queasy.
