Frankly the English speaking Ukrainians are the least nosey Catholics I have ever met. The Ukrainian speakers can be xenophibic and suspicious..but that is due to suffering under Jewish Bolshivism. The Byzantines are a bit full of themselves but lately they are just happy to see anyone showing up for Liturgy. Frankly frankly I hold the Eastern Rites as Superior over all to the Latin rite. With God making it a sort of Good Cop "bad" Cop situation. The Latins need to be more rigid and stoic in order to be the effective Ruling rite over all. But that is just a faulty personal opinion. I really wish there were one closer than two hours away! Too old and too bad a driver to make this trip weekly. The Eastern Catholics seem to be the most persecuted of any group, Catholic or otherwise. I like underdogs. I have a feeling Our Lord does, too. How are the Eastern Catholics persecuted? I'm really interested in them and will probably attend the Divine Liturgy this Sat evening to see what it's like.

American Byzantines not so much persecuted as the former eastern block Churches. Our last ukrainian priest who was very young would tell hair raising stories of the communists burning churches with parishioners in side...and crucifying priests in the town square...THIS WAS IN THE 70S

They currently have no legal status In Mother Russia, but neither does the Latin Church. A few years ago, I remember reading about Eastern Catholics in Ukraine, whose lives were made miserable by Putin’s acquisitive tendencies.

If anyone says to you..."Glory to Jesus Christ...the proper response is ...Glory forever!"

So I've been watching some YouTube videos and Eastern rite is way more congregation interactive than the TLM. This is awesome because for someone self diagnosed with ADD it will be a lot easier to stay on track. The only time my mind didn't totally wonder during the TLM was when I was playing the organ and then all my mind was on was the music. I thought there was something totally lacking in me spiritually because of that.
And no one is going to ask me to play the organ anymore!! Yeay! I can relax and get into the Liturgy!! And I can go Sat nite and hike with my husband on sunday morninn--he will be so glad! So it's better for me my marriage too.
Questions---Veil? What's Communion like? Sign of the cross?

Veils are fine but it will draw attention. I suggest a babushka type veil that draws down the sides over the ears...communion is givennin both species on a spoon...and standing..flip your head back mouth wide open like a pez dispenser...keep tounge IN... IN..IN....the sign of the cross may be harder habit to break. But thats not really an issue...also before entering the pew it is customary to walk up the center aisle to the icon table..kiss the icon then go to pew...when entering pew...to genuflect bow profoundly at the waist...not the Roman knee dip. Youll be fine...just stay in the back for a while observe.

Kim there is a small 4×4' table in the aisle in front of Altar....called a Tetrapod... Looks like this: goo.gl/images/GYYzbG (link will redirect...its ok) Simply kiss the bottom corner of whatever holy Icon placed prominently...I think it should be an Icon of the Protection of the Holy Mother of God.(they change with the feasts) btw...there will be a liturgy book in the pew...use it. In the byzanteens its a littlele complicated to follow...but your a musician.

So this priest is married but I was reading that in 1929 Rome forbid the Eastern Rite priests to marry. Did they do away with that prohibition?
