Since many people on here see modern revisions to Canon Law as illegitimate, what, in your view, would be the last legitimate version of canon law?

If the Church ever updates or makes changes, I will gladly submit. I don't believe the Church gave us the 1983 code.

There's only been 2 versions, correct? 1917 and 1983?

At the time of 1983 the Church was in apostasy, therefore anything that was revised had an agenda. An agenda for "their" convenience. Traditional Catholicism is to remain firm in all teaching we have learned from the beginning.
God is so very perfect, in allowing this apostasy to even happen, He did not leave us without a head, for He, Jesus Christ, has always been the head of His Church. We need only to Keep the Faith as we have learned prior to Vatican II with all its ambiguous words that mean one thing to one person and another to another. Taking a truth and stretching it till it is no longer a truth. Creating a man-made church with no absolutes.
When I say God is so perfect in allowing this apostasy to happen, I meant that we have encyclicals to follow, words of the Fathers, directions and of course the deposit of Faith. We might not have a Catholic pope but we have all the words the True popes have spoken to us. Even the Internet is a treasure of information for Traditional minded Catholic, an avenue to find each other and hopefully to unite.
