I thought it was moved. No problem, except the politics and culture war boards only appear when one is logged in. The messages below state that no boards were found when not logged in. That aside, I imagine it's obvious that I'm a Monarchist. Has anyone here read Dante's De Monarchia? I highly recommend it.

When I was younger I read a biography of the Romanov Dynastys of Russia and ut impressed me...even though schismatic. I truly belive if Czar Nicholas had been rescued Russia would not have fallen to the communist jews...and the world would be much better today. I also consider why Our Lady thinks Russia so important.

An interesting connection: The Romanovs and the Sixteen Carmelites who underwent the guillotine during the French Revolution were both executed on July 17.

Is July 17 special on the Calendar? The Sixteen Martyred Carmelites are on the Calendar, but there is no Mass specifically for them that I know of. Perhaps there is in France. Bastille Day is just three days earlier on July 14 -- another day to lament and make reparation for.

My Highland Scot ancestors immigrated to upper New York state in 1773 just before the American Revolution. They were United Empire Loyalists that had to fight their way to Montreal when the Revolution broke out. For a long time I could not figure out why my ancestors were United Empire Loyalists considering the American Revolution happened just 30 years after the 1745 Highland Rising, an attempt to restore the Stewart Dynasty. The Highland loss at the Battle of Culloden in 1746 basically put an end to Highland culture and culminated with the Highland Clearances. So I couldn't figure out why my ancestors would be loyal to the Monarchy of Great Britain when the American Revolution broke out. It wasn't until I watched a Charles Coulombe talk a couple of years ago that I realized that my ancestors were staunch monarchists still with hopes of a Stewart restoration. That made a lot of sense to me considering there had been risings ever since the so called "Glorious Revolution" when the Protestant King Billy deposed the Catholic King James in 1688. First there was the rising of 1689–92, then a planned invasion of 1708, the rising of 1715, the rising of 1719, the planned invasion of 1744, the rising of 1745 itself and then a planned invasion of 1759.
Just recently I watched another talk with Charles Coulombe from 2015 titled "Revisiting the American Revolution" that was posted in another forum on the 4th of July. Again Charles Coulombe referred back to the 1745 Scottish Highland Rising when talking about the American Revolution. He says France won the American Revolution because of the support received by France. And that if France had have supported the Highlanders in 1745 as much as France supported the American Revolution it would be a different world. Consider if the Stewart Dynasty had have been restored in The 45 then the three ruling colonial powers in North America at the time, France, Spain and Great Britain would all have had Catholic Monarchs.
Here's the recent Charles Coulombe talk that I watched.
