I just figured it might be fun to talk about any forms of the Divine Office we may use and enjoy.
My main breviary is the Baronius Press 1961 Roman Breviary (though you may want to use a second source to spot check since there are mistakes in the Propers of Saints, including at least one wrong date and a few Third Class feasts pointing to incorrect Commons, which can be caught if you pay attention to how the saint is categorized).
I also own a 1955 4 volume set, which was published mere months before the reforms to the Roman Office that very year, plus a 1959 2 volume set used by Discalced Carmelites back then.
Among others in my collection are two copies of Christian Prayer, which are essentially Post Vatican II LOTH diurnals (the one with all of the midday texts, important since I was curious how exactly they compared to what I use). This are the ones from the Paulist nuns that have art that is actually reasonable to look at. Lastly, I have a 1955 Monastic Diurnal.
Wanted list (not trying to buy here and now):
1938 O.Carm (Ancient Observance Carmelites) breviary set. Very last changes made in that edition, so it's acceptable to both sedevantists and sedeplenists alike. In fact, it is admissable under Benedict XVI's Summorum Pontificum as current liturgy for those keeping score on that.
1963 Monastic Diurnal: bought and sold it a couple of times. A bit of a hassle if you want to adapt it to the 1962 Roman Kalendar, even trickier if you want to include local feasts. The 1955 edition is handy as a way to get feasts that the Benedictines did not keep but the Roman Kalendar still has.
Anglican Use Office for the U.S.: this one is still pending approval by the Vatican, and will be on my list once it's out.
Yeah, I'm sort of a collector.
Anyway, feel free to share what you like to use, or would love to try if you could.
