Is there anything wrong with putting down a pet just because you don't want it anymore?
We have an outside cat that is annoying and we don't really like her. She fights with our dog. I think she's healthy besides one ear she keeps scratching all the hair off of. I said something about getting rid of her and my husband wondered if it's okay to do so if there is no good reason. He said something about them all being God's animals. I said I was under the impression animals were just for us to use.

I think it is fine to "put down" the cat. I'm sure this goes without saying, but do it humanely and with as little suffering as possible.
We had to do this with a couple of our cats. They were absolute terrors from the moment we got them. We tried to give them away, the shelters would not accept them because they had too many cats already, etc etc. We felt a bad about it... kind of. But that wore off quite quickly after the feeling of relief that they were gone.
