Hello everyone and God bless. I made a post a while back about coming back to the faith after 10 years but I am having a hard time. I am very confused with the issues going on within the church. I was attending an sspx church (Father Christopher Polley) is the priest but I don’t know if I feel comfortable going to sspx because I am confused on their stance with Rome. I also had watched a video from Brother Peter Diamond on YouTube and that confused me even more and honestly it made me feel as if I was going to hell by going to sspx. In the video he talks about the issues with sspx and cmri, and now I feel as if I have no options for mass. Father Dominic Radecki is flying down next month to administer sacraments to my children and to baptize my boyfriend and marry us. God Bless his soul! I asked Fr. Dominic about this church but he said it is valid sacraments depending on who ordained Fr. Polley but I have no idea how to find out who and if it is valid. I don’t have any family or friends that live near me that are practicing Catholics so this is very hard! I probably need to brush up on my catechism as well. I also had a question regarding confessions. Is my sspx confession valid? I was confused at mass last time. I went to Mount Saint Michaels as a kid and I remember we were taught to always wear our veils but there was a women receiving communion without a veil at this church. I need to go back to confession, since it’s been so long out of the church, I always remember more sins even mortal ones when I get home 😞 would anyone be interested in chatting over the phone? Im really scatter brained sometimes so I apologize if this doesn’t make sense. I feel like im lacking discernment and faith sometimes. I also have some old sins I am just having the hardest time letting go of.

Hello ClaraVM717, Fr. Christopher Polley was ordained by Bp. Tissier (a SSPX bishop that was consecrated by Archbishop Lefebvre). Clearly Fr. Polley is a valid priest. Just to make sure check out the link below which has pictures of Fr. Polley on his ordination day from 2013. archives.sspx.org/rcr_pdfs/2013_rcrs/january_february_2013_rcr.pdfThe SSPX confessions are undoubtedly valid (since Fr. Polley is a valid priest and by Canon 209 of the code of Canon Law) and you should not worry. With respect to forgotten mortal sins, it seems you are trying your best after an examination of conscience. Sometimes it helps to keep a written list after examining your conscience to remind yourself while in the confessional. Remember that Our Lord and Saviour loves you and that He knows you are trying your best. With respect to the Dimonds - it is best to stay away. If you have questions ask Fr. Polley or Fr. Radecki. my best wishes and prayers.

I did not go to mass today in fear that it was not valid but I will make it a habit to go again. Thank you so much. Can you recommend me any good reads or videos that would be helpful to my journey? I will stay away from the Diamond brothers videos.

One of the best books I have ever read is by St. Alphonsus Ligouri - the Glories of Mary. It will be Our Lady who will guide you and your family through this. Link for PDF: ia800609.us.archive.org/2/items/TheGloriesOfMary1852/TheGloriesOfMary1852.pdfI will post more - perhaps short articles (that may be helpful) about confession later tonight. And I know this may be hard at first. But try if you can to encourage you and your fiancée to pray the Rosary together every day.

He prayed his first rosary last night and I gave him his first catechism book and we are doing lessons now. Another step I am going to make today is to delete some apps such as YouTube, tik tok, on my phone. I come across videos that confuse me and it’s probably better just to stay off all together. I will be at confession next time father is here. Mass is only on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.
