I have to be gone from home for 5 days, and am short on ideas of what to make my husband to eat while I'm gone. I welcome any and all suggestions. He's really busy, and would rather go hungry than take time to cook or prepare something.
Some things to keep in mind while suggesting: If it has to be heated in the oven he likely won't bother because he doesn't have time for that Can't have ranch, sour cream or mayo in it Needs to be quick and easy Next to no cleanup The crock pot is currently out of commission
Here's what I'm already planning on doing
Pizza I'm Leaving him with some homemade ice cream (he needs some consolation when both his wife and daughter are gone for nearly a week) Hamburgers A Vegetable Salad

I used to cook meals for my husband when I was gone, but everytime I came home, it was still in the fridge...untouched, and I'd find beer I'm the vegetable drawer. When I asked him what he ate while I was gone, he'd always reply, "hotdogs, sandwiches, and Doritos" I gave up that endeavor. My kids love when I'm gone, because Dad feeds them Bologna sandwiches and chips, all weekend long. So, I "splurge" and buy white bread, Bologna (it has to be the kind with the red ring you peel off), and various flavored doritos and chips.
Or, you could Google 'mason jar meals' and find tons of ideas. They are meant to be a full, single serving meal in a jar, that you just eat cold (like a salad), or warm up in the microwave and eat right out the jar (you could certainly go through the hassle of dumping it into a bowl first, but what bachelor would do that?!). I've even seem homemade soup mix in a jar; where you layer noodles, chicken, veggies, and seasonings, then pour boiling water (or broth) on top and let it sit for a few minutes to steam. It's kind of ingenious, really.

Enchiladas, either regular ones or a casserole, he can freeze if he gets sick of them, also can be done with bean and cheese for Friday or leftover meats if you need to use something up. Put them in a glass baking dish.
Pot roast. Cook a smallish one and divide it into two or three meals, carrots and potatoes on the side.
Wraps, lunch meat and veg. Label, wrap in plastic, leave in fridge.
Chicken and and pasta with roasted veggies. Roast some chicken, dice, roast veggies, add to pasta, make a quick cream sauce, heat and serve.
My husband would make himself kielbasa and beans every night while I am gone. He reverts to the ways of a bachelor without me.

He's actually an excellent cook, and does so often. But, when I'm not home, he just prefers a quick sandwich an some chips.

Thanks for the suggestions, Munda and Clotilde! I may make some enchiladas. Munda, yes, skipping the step of emptying it into a bowl gives it a significantly higher chance of being consumed! Haha. About a year back I left and came home to the same scene as you, Munda. Food wasn't touched. No biggie, I just put it all in the freezer and we at it eventually. I wasn't mad, I just told myself that was the last time I was doing that. I spent the whole day before I left preparing food to come back and find tostino pizza boxes, summer sausage wrappers and beer bottles in the trash can. But here I am again!
This time I am leaving easier stuff to grab, and yes, I'm going to leave him some tostino pizza's and beer to save him a trip to the store. Live and learn!

There's always a silver lining . It was nice to have already prepared meals for after I got home from my trips, those first few times I left (untouched) meals
