(Note to reader: Many Catholics only know King Henry VIII as a murderer, philanderer, and a schismatic, but if one goes back a little further in history before he took a bad turn, he was a zealous Catholic who was openly and publicly fighting the infectious Lutheran heresy. Henry’s actions in defense of the papacy, indulgences and the sacraments were publicly praised by the Pope.
It was sad turn of events that Henry who knew and publicly professed in the strongest manner, his Catholic Faith, openly led a revolt, a schism, against the Church that he had so openly loved and defended. Below I post a letter from Henry to Pope Leo X dated, May 21, 1521, in which this once great king openly denounces Luther’s heresies and shows his love for the Catholic Church and the Catholic Faith.
It is clear from Henry’s words here and elsewhere, that he did not consider himself as an autonomous branch of the Church, but as a Roman Catholic, and in this case even a king, who was subject to the Roman Pontiff. Clearly, England prior to Henry VIII was a unified country from the time of its conversion to the Church in its adherence to the one Church of Rome. There can be no doubt that Henry, ironically enough, the founder of the Anglican schism, believed and defended this, at least until he fell away. I will be posting next Henry’s defense of Papal supremacy.)

Clotilde: We got a new St. Nicholas statue and I was very pleased with the quality! I buy gold coins at Aldis for the shoes and usually they get new clothes or some PJs. We went to DL for the feast.

Marya Dabrowski: Gold coins are a good idea. My kids only got gum or tic-tacs or a couple pieces of chocolate. I wish the toddler would have not been one of the first ones up to keep digging through everyone's shoes.

Pacelli: I looked into Taylor years ago, and I am not convinced about the validity of his line,, so I do not advise anyone to go to those who received orders through his line.

carloscamejo: Some prelates seem to let anyone be "consecrated" a bishop, it seems. If one had made up that they went to med school and presented themselves as a doctor, no sane person would allow you to toy with someone's physical health like that.
