DISCLAIMER and ADVICE:
(This notice will be linked at the top of all of the directories)
Although many eastern Catholic priests are faithful and good priests, there are cases of some whose orthodoxy is questionable, and some even that may be heretics. Some priests engage in practices forbidden by the Church, interfaith worship, the use of altar girls, etc., which at at minimum would make any reasonable Catholic at least question their orthodoxy.
I would urge discretion and care in making the decision to go to any of these Churches, use due diligence in researching the parish and the priest and try to determine to the best of your ability whether the priest is still certainly a Catholic. Due to some Conciliar contamination of eastern rite holy orders, I would also urge due diligence in researching the priest and and his ordaining bishop to be certain of the validity of his orders.
If you have children, I would urge you to go first by yourself, and check it out, and make sure the situation is safe before bringing them.
If you find a good Church, with a good priest, you are blessed as you have found a safe place to receive the sacraments during this crisis. If you learn that the Church has blatant sectarian practices, as mentioned above, then at the very least, you have tried to find a place to receive Our Lord and the graces of the Divine Liturgy, so God will see that you have tried.
You will notice that many Eastern Catholic traditions are different than Roman rite, so be aware of this in advance. These are not heretical or liberal innovations. There are, however some practices brought in from the Novus Ordo, such as the liberal practice of allowing women into church without the head covering. This practice, however, is not heretical. I would urge good women to set the example to the other women by covering their heads. I would also note that some eastern Catholic women and Roman Rite Catholics that go there, still do follow this tradition.
If anyone comes across a church that they deem unsafe, if you don't mind write me privately and I will put a warning about it in the directory.
Lastly, if you do find a good Church, remember always that you are a refugee from your own parish, and do not see the eastern Catholic parishes as a place to fight battles, your purpose in being there is to receive grace, most especially Holy Communion. If you cause discord at the parish, you jeopardize your situation. Leave the battles for the message boards.
