Happy New Year!!
Has anyone made any resolutions? My plan is to get a clock that chimes at every hour, which will cue me to say one Hail Mary with the intention of offering all that I do that hour to her service. Except during the night, of course. I will still do a general morning offering, but I heard this suggested in a sermon as an excellent way to stay directed and vigilant all day.

I bought a clean used truck and I resolve to try and not "pig it up" and take good care of it. Im very negligent with my vehicles and it is a bad habit.

My New Year's Resolutions are to not say anything unkind to anyone and to not raise my voice to my kids, ever. My husband laughed at me when I told him. He told me I should pick something doable. I need to work on my mouth though and I'm aiming high this year. I figure if I fall down I can try again. I'm doing well so far. (I think)

I have one of those clocks, I moved it to the garage because if I was sleeping or a baby was sleeping, it would wake us.

For New Years, I have resolved to read more, I have a particular book in mind, and to do more projects that keep my hands busy, like knitting and crocheting. I also want to get back into my yearly cooking challenge where I learn to make something I've never made. I have not done it in two years. I also have some fitness goals that revolve around an injury that has since healed. I know I have a lot but one more personal thing is to keep learning, in area where I am deficient, or my parents never taught me.
For my children, I want to be better at planning ahead to avoid some of the chaos that naturally happens in families. I also want to encourage them more to do projects that are more complex and use their natural talents and skills. I want to read aloud to them more often but I'm usually tired by the end of the day when I have time.
I would also like to work on my faults, to be more charitable, and to live as a better witness to our Catholic Faith in the world, not through strife and confrontation but through thoughtful and prayerful means which are appropriate.

A blessed new year to everyone here!!!
I am resolving to get along better with my mother this year. I have the tendency to correct her and give my opinions to readily. Yet, one of the priests at my chapel has told me that even if I am right sometimes and have a better way that I need to submit to her will.
I had a friend who had that exact bird clock! :-)

Yeah I've seen those bird clocks before. I forgot that they even existed. But now I want one! As long as I didn't keep it upstairs where the bedrooms are, I think I would get along just fine with it. Nice resolutions, everyone.

We are making good here. I've been getting caught up on things and my daughter taught herself some basic embroidery, meanwhile, my son is compiling lists of tools he needs really get going in woodworking--which totally makes selecting a Birthday or Christmas present much easier for me.
I just finished my list of things to cook in the New Year, I think three of them require the pasta rolling set I now own, thanks to my husband, and it should be fun.
