In the following thread from some years ago, Pacelli made some important points: tradcath.proboards.com/thread/1216/traditionalism-eastern-rites-discusisonI am considering this quote, which concerns the SSPX: I have recently been reading about theological notes in the attempt to understand different degrees of certitude. With regard to the first quote, I wondered whether saying that the Church can allow impious worship is actually heretical, for it seemed to me, from the table which Mr Daly translated, that the note concerning secondary infallibility is 'certain' or 'common', and therefore the censure applied to a contrary proposition would be 'temerarious', not heretical. I would be interested in the notes of the other two points, though I agree that the last point seems to contradict the dogma that the Pope has supreme jurisdiction, which is de fide.

The notes attached to various errors are certainly debatable points, some are clear, some are not. Theologians often differed as to what note to attach to specific errors.
