We have been asked to host a traditional Catholic Young Adults Group Meet-Up. If we get enough people, it will take place the weekend after Thanksgiving November 25-27th. The town the event will take place in is about 70 miles from Washington D.C. and a little over an hour from Saint Athanasius Chapel in Vienna, VA.
If anyone is interested, please PM me and I can give more details.

Glad to hear a non-sectarian YAG is occurring. Are you open to the details being shared on other platforms?

Rita, this is such a great idea. I will pray for it's success! It's so important for Catholics considering marriage to find like minded spouses, and an added bonus is that Catholics may also meet good lifelong friends. The internet can only go so far, people need to meet in person and get to know each other.

Glad to hear a non-sectarian YAG is occurring. Are you open to the details being shared on other platforms? Yes! Absolutely! Please share wherever you like! We have shared the info on another trad forum and with several emails out to numerous people. We are considering making it an annual meeting but not quite sure yet what we can commit to. Are you interested in coming? If so you or anyone you know who might be interested can email us at: allthroughmary@gmail.com. Technically registration was due by September 30th, but we are allowing late sign-ups if they are within a reasonable time. We just have to start planning food, restaurant reservations etc. 😅

We are hoping that it will give more people an opportunity to make friends with and marry more solid (but not cultish) traditional Catholics. We figure that any new couples might also have children to be solid friends for our children in the future. 😅 Omnia ad majorem Dei Gloriam!

@rita, can you tell me more about Saint Athanasius Chapel in Vienna, VA? An internet search gives me very little recent information except that the Diocese openly distances themselves from it and Fr Ringrose appears to be the pastor.

@rita, can you tell me more about Saint Athanasius Chapel in Vienna, VA? An internet search gives me very little recent information except that the Diocese openly distances themselves from it and Fr Ringrose appears to be the pastor. Saint Athanasius is an Independent Chapel. The chapel was originally started by a board of lay people (including the father of Father Joseph Collins RIP). Father Ringrose was conditionally ordained by Archbishop Lefebvre in the 1982 and has been the pastor there ever since. Wow! It just hit me that that is 30 years this year! Father Ringrose used to be on more friendly terms with the SSPX until 2012 when he wrote his famous letter telling people to be cautious about attending their Masses (giving them a yellow light) because of their negotiations with Rome. When Bishop Williamson was kicked out of the SSPX, he became the bishop who would confirm people at our chapel every couple of years. In May of 2017 we hosted the Consecration of Bishop Zendejas (the main US Resistance bishop) in a big tent near our rectory. We temporarily had R&R Fr. Ortiz and sedevacantist Father McMahon at our chapel helping Father Ringrose together. Their constant arguments divided the laity at our chapel and Father Ringrose eventually put out a statement saying that the R&R and Total Sedevacantist both had problems and that it was necessary to have a position somewhere in between (more like sedeprivationism?). When COVID happened Fr. Ortiz got stuck in Columbia and then decided to stay there. When Father Collins died, Father McMahon stayed in NY to help take over his parish. So, Father Ringrose is again the only priest running Saint Athanasius. I believe that he does not mention Bergolio in the Mass but he also does not condemn those who do. Does that answers your questions? If you have anything more specific that you would like to know about, please feel welcome to ask. 😇
