A recent question was posed to me, asking where to be on guard for NUC's, (non-una-cumers) as the person in question attends CMRI and was surprised to meet a NUC family there.
The major proponents of this error in the U.S. are Bishop Donald Sanborn and the late Fr. Anthony Cekada. Most, if not all Catholics that attend the chapels affiliated with these men are probably infected, unfortunately. Also, the bishops and priests who staff these chapels, run by Bp. Sanborn or Saint Gertrude the Great, are most likely infected. I am not sure with SGG now that there is new leadership if they will find their way out of this, or just continue on as they had previously.
The CMRI had taken a very strong stand against this modern error, and has, as of late published two good and thoughtful responses opposing it. To the best of my knowledge all CMRI priests are in agreement in opposing this error. Catholics must, however, be on guard with some laypeople who attend CMRI chapels. There are some who attend CMRI that do adhere to the NUC error, just as there are some who adhere to the Feeneyite errors. So, be on guard. NUCites, like Feeneyites are often very aggressive, and think they need to convert you to their position.
One must be aware that NUC's, unlike Feeneyites will exclusively be found only at Sedevacantist chapels, so they may be present at any Sede chapel, whether or not the priest or group agrees with NUCism.
Both positions are grounded in doctrinal error, which is not immediately apparent, so be careful when reading their literature or listening to their proponents. The errors are often very subtle, and will not be readily caught by an untrained person, so be especially cautious with children or those not well educated in the Faith, especially including newcomers.
