Maybe we can play a game of sorts. Catholic related of course. Just little tidbits of what you've learned over the years or fun things you've just recently learned. It could be fun. If not, you can remove this thread or I can whatever is easiest. I just learned something about some very ancient liturgical utensils that were used in the past. Very cool! I'll go first. ------ Did you know... (I think maybe these were customs) The Deacon would take care of a Holy Fan used during the Offertory and the end of Communion for the purpose of driving away annoying bugs away from the Priest and the Blessed Sacrament and there was such thing as a Comb used to brush back the Priests hair to keep it in order for Mass? Oh, you can read about it more in this book, archive.org/details/AHistoryOfTheMassAndItsCeremonies/page/n323/mode/2up?q=fan

Did you know true eastern Icons are not painted but written...and that the proper method is to start with a dark color and work the Icon with lighter and lighter colors till the final color applied is usually Gold or bright or pale yellow.

Did you know that Pius XII's body practically exploded after his death? 😬 Oh wow! You mean like Spontaneous combustion? That's so sad. I assumed he was maybe put on display like the relics. Aw that's sad I wonder how that happened, maybe gas? I don't know how that even happens

Aw that's sad I wonder how that happened, maybe gas? I don't know how that even happens It was claimed that his doctor embalmed him in a way that made him body deteriorate super quickly, but there there were a lot of other word things going on that his doctor tried to tell people about but the shut him up somehow. It is hard to know all the true facts expect that his body for some reason exploded. 😬

Interesting trivia - Did you know that Pope St. Pius X smoked. We all love this dear and great saint. I wish I could go back in time and share a pipe or a cigarette with this wonderful man. From the above:

Yes, I would dare say that JPII was an apostate already in his teen years when he would attend services at the local synagogue in Wadowice. Any Catholic attending Jewish services in pre-VII Poland would be considered an apostate by society. At the time he must have attended clandestinely because public knowledge of such behaviour would have negated any chances of him entering the priesthood in later years. The coup de grâce, in my opinion, was him bowing during a Jewish hymn on a visit to the Roman Synagogue in 1986 when the words alluding to the coming (false) messiah were being sung, thereby denying the divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. This and the kissing of the Koran etc. showed his true colours - an apostate.

From the above: Wow! Love this! Actually... I have very nastalgic memories of traditional Catholic men and priests smoking pipes and cigars. 🥰
