I've been trying to look up evolution and Catholicism but I can't really find anything and if I do read something about it I don't fully understand what I'm reading. I've asked people from church about it and they say that we as Catholics don't believe in evolution. I answered something on Quora about evolution and said the exact same thing as what people have told me about it, that we don't believe in it. But some lady, I assume she goes to the new church. She was saying that I'm wrong and I should be careful what I say online without researching it. I agree on that part, but I don't want to read anything from EWTN and other modern sites that talk about it because I disagree with those sites. I don't care for the people on there like Jimmy akin because he shares a lot of stuff that I believe is completely wrong to do, like it's ok to dress up as devils and witches for Halloween. I totally disagree with that as it opens doors that we don't want to open for our children. That's how I got started into that stuff as a kid. But she was saying that in the early church they ....
I forgot how to spell his name but an admin I think he is Pat.... talks with some other people about evolution, but I think it's not talking about what I'm talking about in another thread. Here's the link to the thread that is talking about a different type of evolution but sometimes I think they bring it up, tradcath.proboards.com/search/results?captcha_id=captcha_search&what_at_least_one=evolution&who_only_made_by=0&display_as=0&search=Search
I don't mean Darwinism for evolution. There's other parts of evolution that doesn't have to do with Darwin. I think evolution is just a theory as that's what it's called, but some atheist's if not all believe that it's not a theory but fact.
I've heard that somethings you can believe in and it doesn't hurt to believe in. Like some Catholics believe the earth is flat, I think it's wrong, but I guess it doesn't hurt to believe in that?
As a protestant, the churches I went to believed that science and religion couldn't coexist, but it seems sorta weird to say that, because I do believe in science but not all types of sciences. I've studied a tiny bit of this when I was agnostic and between different religions/denominations (if that's even a word. I mean I know it is, but we see protestant denominations as false). Some atheists talk about if you believe in micro evolution then you have to believe in macro evolution. I don't know. It's hard to deny some sciences because we have proof of that maybe? I don't think it's possible to just have a new creature on the earth pop out of nowhere or from aquatic to land animal, I don't think that's possible, but some people do over thousands of years.
I have asked this homeschooling teacher that sells homeschooling book sets if there's a book about science and history that the parents use to teach their kids correctly, but she said there's not really a science book that talks about evolution I guess because she doesn't believe in it. I guess dinosaurs have nothing to do with evolution or cavemen or whatever. Some people in church don't believe in dinosaurs or cavemen because they think it deals with evolution. I guess the cavemen would deal with that.
I looked in the search within this forum for evolution and the only thing that I saw I don't think it was talking about what I'm talking about, but one post Patelli or something like that or maybe it was that voxx guy (sorry!) said, ".......Now you do seem to be evincing one of the moral problems I have with the quantum interdimensional theory's to be examples of Gods Heavenly Kingdom the beatific Vision. This is a materialist worldview in my opinion. Much like the God used evolution theory. Christ tells us...eyes have not seen...nor has it ENTERED into the mind of man what Gods presence is like. All the mechanics and forces of physics are part of Gods MATERIAL creation......."
~ I think you were talking about something else. I tried to do a search within the page to see anything about the word, evolution. But there is some science within the eucharist mysteries I think. There has been people testing the blood from some eucharistic miracles and it either it is a fact or just someone's theory about it comes from the heart of someone with a rare blood type or whatever. That's completely different than what I'm talking about, but whatever ahha. sorry.
I've tried to look up St. Thomas Aquinas talks about evolution like the summa Theologica and I can't find anything on new advent that talks about it. You'd think he would've talked about that. He might of but I can't find it. It just seems like all the sites that I'm trying to look for aren't sites that I trust 100% because their modern catholic teachings. Oh, I guess this thread is about evolution of doctrine and the sacraments, yea totally different what I was thinking, But a really good idea to read this thread because I'm curious about that too!
I just would like to understand what to believe in everything God believes in and wants us to believe in. I do know that I need to unlearn and relearn a lot of what I've been taught in public schools and just living outside the church when I was younger. That's going to take awhile to put science aside or some sciences I guess. I try my best to follow everything that I do know that we're supposed to believe but some of it I have a hard time believing because I wasn't taught that.
I don't know if you can tag people in a thread, so sorry about randomly copying something this guy said and talking to him like I would in a message. Just maybe someone can give me a book to read about this or a website that is legit that talks about this. Thank you, God bless you.
