I am not relocating but it has been a topic on everyone’s mind lately.
My top picks overall are: Idaho Florida Indiana Ohio Texas
If homeschooling was the only consideration: Idaho Michigan Texas Connecticut Indiana Alaska
If Trad Chapels were the only consideration: Ohio Minnesota Michigan Kansas Nebraska Colorado
If cost of living was a major issue: Ohio Indiana Minnesota Virginia Texas Nebraska
Overall by region: Northwest:Idaho Mountain: Colorado Southwest: Texas South: Florida Midwest: Ohio Northeast: New Hampshire
Honorable mention: Oklahoma and Alaska

I have only lived in the same state for the part of my life I can remember...but in regards to homeschooling it seems to have been good and many people have moved here for that reason.
I am open to moving to another state if need be but it does seem that God has kept everything rolling here for us in VA. I am just glad we live in the country and have a good support group, my husband has a good job and we also have a place to attend Mass within an hour and a half. That is more than many people can ask for. 😅

I don't see myself permanently moving out of state. Why? I like Minnesota. If it were any other place, maybe somewhere warm as a winter residence, but that's it. I really want to just find the place and stay there for a long time.

I think it is on the mind of many people.

How about PA...I go to a Trad Mass ( independant) and theres alot of byzantines and ukrainian parishes I think the property prices make it a strong contender. I wasn’t sure how restrictions were affecting people’s daily lives and had not heard from anyone else homeschooling there since the laws have changed. So I felt like I didn’t know enough about it to evaluate it. I would like living there because it’s quiet and I like the people in PA. Although if a certain trad group moves up there, it would be less desirable to me because that would severely hurt the chances of any new suitable options, if others fell through. Also, I would be excluded from that social circle so it would likely be hard for the kids and I to make friends—if there was no competition in my area.

Homeschooling is wide open in PA..( some *a little*thanks to yours truly and the mrs who were early adopters and politically active for parental rights....) Several Byzantine rites...covid tyranny dropped off dramatically when the transexual pervert became an admiral for Biden and left gov wolf to his cowardly self. Also the state government severely restricted the GOvrnrs emergency powers. As far as communities...between Pottstown and Reading and York area I know several very Good Cath families. Of course yours trulies most of all. We also have VERY STRONG gun rights

My state of NJ is the worst, even by some polls. Recently it ranked #50 on some ranking or other as Best States to Retire To. Does anyone know anyone whose dream is to live out one's days in NJ?
I'm staying here for now because of my job, from which I could get fired at any time due to my inoculation status. Being 64 and in a low-income boarding house, I have neither the motivation nor the funds to fight it if it occurs.
PA would be my first choice, due to all that was said above, and that I have good Catholic friends there. We are all of different stripes theologically, but we all love and pray for each other. Currently I am attending a traditional chapel there, 70 miles away. I have trouble with some of their positions; however, it's an improvement to staying home, which I did for over a year. Raw milk is also legal there. Moo.
There is an excellent argument, however, to staying put and fighting the good fight where one is. We had a gubernatorial election last November. Our governor is among the worst, endorsed by Bernie Sanders. Many people were surprised when the results were astoundingly close. The Republicans turned out in droves at the polls, and the governor won re-election by a tiny margin. Some have wondered how it would have gone had all the people who left NJ in the past 2 years had stayed and voted last November. Quite possibly it would have made the difference to swing the election.
I don't criticize anyone who moves, especially if they are educating young children. It's just on my mind because NJ came so close to ousting its governor.
