I would not recommend this tract, and strongly disagree with it. The underlying point of this tract is dissent against the teaching and laws of Pope Pius XI and Pope Pius XII. Pope St. Pius X taught: It is only Dr. Byrne's opinion that the Dialogue Mass, approved by Pope Pius XI, led to the Novus Ordo. I think such an opinion is rash. The fact that the Novus Ordo of Paul VI came about, does not mean that the actions of Popes before him led up to this. The Novus Ordo is its own animal, its own species, and it cannot be connected to Catholic worship, which it pretends to build upon. It was a break, rather than a continuation. Our duty is to trust the Church, trust the Popes and their teaching and law, not cast aspersions on them. In my opinion, the 20th century Popes were reforming the liturgy into something good, but all of this was derailed by Paul VI who together with like minded heretics used the previous good acts of Popes as a pretext to make their move and destroy the liturgy. The problem with this Novus Ordo was not lay participation in answering responses, the problem was that it is grounded in a heretical new theology. There can be no comparison between the Novus Ordo and what existed as approved Divine worship under Popes Pius XI and Pius XII.
