The Novus Ordo is the true Mass? No...this directive overturns benedict's indult...it gives the local bishops' councils direct authority to change the liturgiess...ALL liturgies...so it will be used against the True Mass ...not the NO which is already a lump of bishops' putty.

So hypothetically, if there was a trad friendly bishop, he could outlaw the new liturgy and enforce the old rubrics? Lol. I know that isn't likely to happen but wouldn't it be nice.

No not individual bishops...bishop scouncils...and its sweet but you're dreaming if you think this will somehow be used for good.

Everything I've read is that it's targeting the N. O. Mass, dealing with translations, etc. Actually, the authority to change the N.O. liturgy resided in the Vatican, e.g. pro multi changed from "for all" to "for many" in English. That change took effect in all English language Masses (or it should have, some priests have been disobedient).
