Over the years, I have frequently read from numerous people that Pius XII was very ill in the last years of his life, therefore things were being done in his name but not by his will as he was sick and not able to effectively govern. The only people I have ever seen pushing this false narrative are those who reject Pius XII's liturgical reforms, most specifically the 1955 Holy Week. One interesting thing about thi is that those who say this about Pius XII never provide a source to support their ideas about his final years, they just state it as though its an established fact. The truth is that Pope Pius XII was very ill in 1954, and after a visit from Our Lord on his deathbed, the Pope amazingly regained his health and vitality and very actively ruled the Church until his death in October, 1958. I will be posting in the Resource section biographical information about the Pope's final years, along with numerous photos all attesting to his health and amazing energy in governing the Church after his December, 1954 recovery until shortly prior to his death. Those that say Pope Pius XII was very ill in his final years and was not governing the Church effectively due to this, do a disservice to the truth, and spread a false narrative. I would ask those interested in this subject to read the account of Pius XII's near death, vision of Our Lord and recovery in 1954 found HEREI will be adding more on this over the next couple of days.
