Are these deaths suspicious?

They were both extremely old. It is not that odd.

The only 2 of 4 cardinals who opposed Frank both dead in the space of 2 months. True--they weren't spring chickens. Still seems odd to me. Burke and Burgmueller should hire food tasters.

Are these deaths suspicious? You'll never know if they were suspicious. That requires an autopsy/ investigation, etc--which are things JP1 didn't get. The Vatican doctor who had never even examined JP1 while alive decided it was a heart attack. Not sure how you diagnose a heart attack without an autopsy or without at least having witnessed the symptoms preceding his sudden death. Look at the Borgias. Murder ain't nothing new in the Vatican. Time for Burke to issue his formal correction.

If it was a conspiracy I would guess only one more will go. Usually there's always a mole working for the other side.

They were old, but the timing of their deaths is at least coincidental as to make one wonder. If an old man had a lawsuit against another, and just happened to die before the court date, it would look suspicious. So does this.

So now the word is , according to his colleagues, that Caffarra died of a broken heart over the state of things in the "Church."
He would not be the first to die of a broken heart according to a Dr. Stuart Reiss:
"Caffara is not the first cardinal to die of a broken heart...soon after the preparatory commission (headed by Fr Annibale Bugnini) completed its work on the schema for VII constitution on the Liturgy, Sacrosanctum concilium, it needed to be approved as per protocol by Gaetano Cardinal Cicognani in his capacity as the Prefect of the Apostolic Signature, and the head of the liturgical commission. However, he apparently refused to sign it, and locked himself away. His brother meanwhile also a Cardinal, and the secretary of state, Amleto Cardinal Cicognani (who in 1969 resigned all of his offices) was tasked by Pope John XXIII to visit Gaetano and not return until the schema was duly signed. On Feb 1st 1962 Amleto visited Gaetano and informed him of the Pope's wish. Later a priest described the scene between the two brothers, when Gaetano, in tears had said "they want me to sign this, but I don't know if I want to" then he had laid down the document on his desk, picked up a pen, and signed it. Four days later, Gaetano died of a broken heart."

These died of a broken heart articles are pathetic. Where was Carrafa's broken heart during all these years of heresy and apostasy? I don't buy it.
