The EU let the Muslims in or at least most of them. Why do you think they are at Calais?
You cannot lay the blame entirely with the British, since we've never explicitly voted for or elected the EU officials. Short of having a revolution, which tend to backfire, what could the common man do if the government signed trade deals and quietly and secretly acquiesced power to Brussels?
At what point in that slow erosion of sovereignty does one act? Very difficult.
Prior to the EU the only Muslims here were pakis and frankly, as smelly and disgusting as they are, they are by no means the worst guests to have in your country. The wave the British gave passports to (1950-1991) were actually pretty hard working people.
I was 22 when the Maastricht treaty was signed and I can assure you that no warning was given about what might happen going forward. You cannot expect the common man to understand complex political deals when the government and the media won't address them and put them into terms he can understand. I don't blame the British commoner for this. I blame the liberal politicians who acquiesced to joining the EU, giving into diversity-talk and multiculturalism group-think. I also hold to account, to some degree, the British electorate who voted for these people, though it may also be that you folks, like us, are not given too many good choices. The islamification of Britain will be corrected, one day, as spoken of in prophecy. Probably either in the next generation, or the one after that.

You can blame the politicians, as such, because they clearly wanted it to happen. It's not like they regret doing it. As far as they are concerned it has been a success. Only some people see it as worse.
Also remember that well before the Muslims and immigration Europeans were killing each other, by the millions, in 2 world wars.
If you compare those to your civil war and revolutionary war it makes them look like minor skirmishes.

Yes, it's insane how gleeful the politicians are celebrating this dyscivic anarchy that's blooming. Clearly, their heads are in the wrong place. As for comparisons between Europe and America...seems unnecessary. Both sides of the pond are going to get a coarse and bitter taste of multiKult. We're not immune over here. I'm expecting bad things in the next dozen years. Balkanization would be an optimistic forecast. Unlikely, though.

Just as they were with the overt, martial muslim invasions into the late 17th century.
