This comes as no surprise, sad as it may be.

Luis Ladaria the Universalist as CDF head? Next, they can pick Rabbi Skorka to head a dicastery. =(

To be fair, Muller was no champion of orthodoxy. He's "better" than Ladaria in the sense that a heterosexual fornicator is "better" than a sodomite, but both are on the road to Hell.
Among Muller's nonsense:
* throwing a spanner in the works of a doctrinal and pastoral reconciliation with the SSPX * denying the perpetual virginity of Mary by "spiritualizing" it away, like the Protestants * supporting Liberation Theology * denying the physical reality of the resurrection * reprimanding those who dared to question Pope Francis' best-selling Mills and Boon novel, "Amoris Laetitia" (aka "The Torrid Romance of Papa Francis and Clelia Luro") * standing by silently while his bolder compatriots, such as "Cardinal" Marx, dismantle the Faith in Germany
Only in post-V2 Bizarro World would such a man be considered orthodox. St. Pius X would have excommunicated him long ago.

In any other discipline, especially one where you're put in charge of people's spiritual lives, anyone who denied fundamental truths like that would be thrown out of their studies with very little reticence. It's only through the failings of the mainstream Church for the past 60 years that the hacks are even admitted into seminaries and in positions to lead entire sections of nations.
