I am a bit of a board game fan.
Lately, I've been playing Agricola on my iPad so I can learn the rules without having to watch too many videos. It's pretty good, when it goes down in price I want to buy it and give it to my kids for Christmas.
My top ten favorite games in no particular order... Settlers of Catan Pandemic Scrabble Ticket to Ride Carcassone Blokus Castles of Burgundy Alhambra Scattergories 7 Wonders

Kids and I just started playing Risk, Europe. It's really fun! I wish there was a decent Trivial Pursuit that didn't require lots of mainstream entertainment knowledge. And, pictionary. Good one for a large age range. We also like Yahtzee, dominoes, and various card games.
Catan is fun! I want to get that one for Christmas this year. My older ones are just getting old enough to really enjoy board games with. I'm looking forward to this stage of family life!

When we do Cranium, I just throw out the cards that are beyond our realm regarding modern entertainment. I own all the Catan expansions. My Catan expansions have expansions. My kids like Risk, Lost Cities, Axis and Allies and so on.

I am a big fan of board games and card games. I haven't played either in a couple of years because our family just isn't in that stage of life right now.
My favorites: Monopoly Risk Taboo Farming game
Monopoly has been my favorite ever since I first learned it as a child. My husband had never played it before we were married, so when we first started playing I would beat him every time and it would bother him to no end. He even admitted it was a good practice of humility and self control for him because he would feel the urge to flip the table, lol. I got sick of the game for awhile because he was always demanding a rematch! Anyway, he got my tricks figured out and now every game is up in the air as to who will win.
Our favorite card game is Rummy
I don't like Catan. Sorry, Clotilde! Our closest friends use to invite us over for Catan all the time, I never had the heart to tell them that I loathe it. Phew! Glad those days are over!

That's funny, Jen. I feel the same way about Monopoly and the idea of having to play makes me want to flip tables.

Of course I bought it and of course I don't play it. I'll have to see if I can find it... (testing the user link feature... mundacormeum )

I have played it at a party once! Neat! Did you like it? Some of the questions are pretty hard, if you ever do teams, pick the guy who is a liturgy nerd.

I rarely play board games. The only one I've really liked is Monopoly. I get a big kick out of taking people's property. LOL! Family call me ruthless in cards and boardgames and always want to team play with me because of it. They find it odd because they consider me to be a very nice person otherwise. What I really wish I could do well at is Chess. My older sister could beat any man in all sports and chess. It was very intimidating for them because she was ultra feminine in appearance. What's this Risk, Europe game about? It sounds fun. Perhaps I should check into some of these board games I'm not familiar with. Thanks, everyone!

I'm rocking baby to sleep, while husband and kids clean up from dinner, so we can play risk with the big kids tonight! I'm quite sure I can't explain the ins and outs of the game in one post, but it is a strategy game. The board is a giant map of old Europe, and each player (up to 4 players) has various army men. You set up 10 men in one country, then try to take over Europe using the various strategy cards. They include things like expanding your army into new territories, growing your army with more men, and attacking enemies. It's quite fun.
I'm terrible at chess! My husband and I played every night for a while, and I lost every single time. Being the terrible loser I am, we decided we shouldn't play together anymore unless we are on the same team 😂
