I have a friend on Facebook whom I agree with on many things...but when he posted a debate between a protty and brother Dimond I expressed that the Dimonds are nuts. ( to his credit Brother dimond did take the protty down quite well) My friend politely asked me to explain my disdain...since it was very late and I don't think FB a good forum to discuss detailed matters I invited him here. He was bothered( but not angry) by my comment because he came to traditionalism via the Dimonds writings etc. I dont want to misdirect him away from tradition...but he should be made aware why the Dimonds should be kept at arms length and taken with a grain of salt. This will be TCs official thread on the subject. Please expound what we know here.

Demolishing protties isn't that hard for a logical person with above average intellect and basic understanding of real history and relevant points of contention. They do a fairly good job of it, but they veer of into prideful feeneyite insanity after that. They are dangerous because they have so much good mixed with poison.

The lack of logical consistency with the Prots is easy to point out. They often run away or become childish when faced with thier basic logical errors. It really is emotional and social with many of them.

Honest prots are drawn to traditionalism as has been shown by many probably thousands of conversions since V2.

That pretty much sums it up.
I do not understand why anyone would read their material to begin with. They are publishing without approval or oversight of any authority. It's tabloid Catholicism. Tabloid Catholicism, like vague Vatican II sect teachings, leads its readers away from critical thinking and evaluation and seeks to gratify pride and emotions.

To be fair in some folks returning to tradition there is a learning curve.

It takes time. We are not angels that realize everything in an instant. It is entirely possible to spot them as charlatans from the beginning, just as it is possible for people to be able to tell when their emotions are being manipulated. I am not discounting the fact that people can be taken in by them, they are grifters afterall.

Sure and people who are just learning about something can be more easily mislead.

Sure and people who are just learning about something can be more easily mislead. I know well-educated people who have fallen for them as well.

When I first returned to the True Catholic Faith a little over 2 yrs ago, the Dimond's website is the first I encountered when searching on google. I learned about Vatican II, the Novus Ordo and the Anti-Pope's by reading their material. When it came to other materials such as Baptism of Desire and Baptism of Blood, and their referring to just about everybody as being a heretic, etc., red flags went off and I quit reading them and wouldn't drink the kool aide. When first searching on the internet for the Traditional Catholic Faith it is hard not to come in contact with their website as it is all over google. In this time of great apostasy critical thinking skills, common sense, and reasoning ability are paramount in sifting through all materials, not just on the Dimond's website but others as well.

There is something wrong when good Catholic priests are labeled as heretics for specious reasons.

There is something wrong when good Catholic priests are labeled as heretics for specious reasons. Or when you keep a running list or chart of heretics and you aren't the Holy Office.

Veronica,
Thank you, I did not see what you brought to my attention. Every post with the reference to that character has been removed.
