Ham bone for bean soup is the best thing about making a ham for Easter

I'm a southern girl, and we like our hams. They are really flavorful and juicy, though. The ham bone makes great red beans and rice. This year for Easter we did a ham, rice dressing, roast asparagus, salad, and bread. My daughter made a cheesecake for dessert.

Searching rice dressing...so it's a rice side. What do you put in yours?

mine looks pretty similar to that picture. I brown ground meat or pork sausage (removed from casing) with a container of rice dressing mix (kind of a Cajun pork, chicken liver pate....I wouldn't eat it on its own, though). Then, I add chopped onion, bellpepper, garlic, celery, and parsley flakes. Once the veggies are softened, season with Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Then, I take a spoonful of cornstarch and mix well with enough cold water to cover the meat/veggie mixture. Pour that on top, cover and simmer for about half an hour. Then, add cooked white rice by large spoonfuls until almost all the liquid is absorbed. I like my dressing more on the moist side.
