To answer your question, I was born in the 1950's and raised in the Roman Catholic Church with the Latin Mass. I left the church in the late 1960's and years later when I attempted to return to the Church, it was no longer the Church I grew up in. I couldn't understand what had happened to the Church of my youth. It wasn't there. It was a conglomeration of Protestantism and New Age nonsense. I finally just quit going to church and gave up on the church as it was not the church I grew up in and I did not like it. I was very confused. 2 years ago at Lent, I began questioning if Pope Francis was even a Catholic and ran across a website that explained to me what happened to the Church after Vatican II and then everything started to begin to make sense to me. I found a Priest that was 89 yrs old and went to him for a general confession and my life has turned around dramatically. I am no longer the confused mess I had been for years trying to find my way in the Vatican II religion.

I suggest you explore an eastern rite option for sundays....unless you have a valid TLM

I suggest you explore an eastern rite option for sundays....unless you have a valid TLM Thank you Voxxkowalski! As a matter of fact the first Mass I attended after going to an 89 yr old Priest for confession, was to a Ukranian Catholic Church. I went there twice. I then started to go to a TLM which the 89 yr old Priest presides. It is a TLM in the Diocese. The 89 yr old Priest is sickly a lot and young Novus Ordo Priests say the Mass and then I won't attend. I haven't been able to go to the TLM since the beginning of September as the Priest has been in and out of the hospital. I know it is only a matter of time before I will need to find someplace else to go. I have questions regarding the Ukranian Catholic Church. Is that something you could help me with? As far as I can deduce my only recourse will be the Ukranian church in the area where I live. Thank you.

Welcome to the Forum and welcome back home. You and I are about the same age, and if you went to a Catholic school during the post conciliar time, its not a wonder that you lost your faith.

Thank you michaelwilson for the warm welcome home!! It was a long journey back!! I remember being told when the "New Mass" was instituted that the only changes that were made was the "Mass was being said in English instead of Latin and Communion was to be taken in the hand"!!

I remember them telling us that the changes were made, because "the young people wanted them". They stuck a bunch of guitars in the Mass and everyone ran out of the Church! "Young people" my broad backside! How about situation ethics in the Catechisms? How about open contempt for the Rosary? I could go on and on. I was blessed to be born in a very devout conservative Catholic family, that realized early something was wrong. If I hadn't had my family, I would have also left the Church and gone off on some goofy tangent. You at least have the grace to return.
