Does the onset of cool weather have anyone feeling crafty? What do you have in the works? I pulled out my drop spindle, cards, and alpaca fiber to make some yarn. The plan is to make matching hats for my girls. I've also been dreaming up Christmas dress designs for the girls. Christmas is a ways away, but when it comes to sewing I have to start early or I will not finish it. I'm also hoping to finish a vest for my husband that I started two years ago, and I imagine I'll bring out the embroidery blocks I've been working on for 5 years at some point as well.

I'd like to make a wreath, whether or not I have the time to do that is another thing.

I make Saint's Day costumes...that's it. I also put a pumpkin next to our Mary statue, with a chrysanthemum. I have no creative gene.

Here is the yarn I'm spinning for the hats. One of the spindles is of a 2 ply yarn, and the other is single. After I turn all of the single yarn into double, I can start knitting. Spinning on a drop spindle takes so much longer than on a spinning wheel. Even so, I prefer the spindle to the wheel.
