Please pray for my son. We get the results of his Lymes test back in the morning. If negative they'll be more testing tomorrow afternoon. He used to be such a happy-go-lucky boy.

Not yet, I'll call mid-morning if they haven't called me yet. If Negative he'll have another x-ray and MRI this afternoon. He's a kid who doesn't every complain so it's made him really grumpy and miserable.

I willl pray for him. It's a heavy cross for someone so young. I know a bit about Lyme, and have known many who have contracted it. There a different tests for it, some better than others, it's worth looking into it you suspect Lyme. If you live in an area wth a lot of ticks, it's a strong possibility. www.lymedisease.org/lyme-basics/lyme-disease/diagnosis/

Whatever test they did it was negative. They are suggesting that it is Osgood Schlatters and that I should give him ibuprofen and ice. The problem is it can last from 6-24 months or until he is grown. He told me it hurts every day. I'm not completely accepting of this diagnosis because he doesn't fit the age range when it normally happens. I may take him to an ped. ortho specialist if it doesn't get better.

I had a patient that had a severe food allergy to either dairy or citrus that wasn’t properly diagnosed until ages 4 to 6. The poor child for years would have such stomach pain and bleed. It can be very difficult to pin down the exact cause and can take a great deal of perseverance and finding the right doctor. Don’t be discouraged or give up mom. Your son needs you to be a pit bull for him.

Lyme is very hard to test for and many people come back negative. The other issue is that there are co-infections that go with Lyme and it is not the only tick-bourne illness.
I hope he finds some relief, and if you go the ibuprofen route, just remember to have him eat well when he takes it to avoid stomach pains. It is a very good med for fighting inflammation, if that is truly the cause.
