My father fell yesterday evening while on the way to the bathroom.
It sounds like he is having internal bleeding and they believe that he has septicemia. He was transferred from our local ER to a bigger hospital Center around midnight.
The doctor is supposed to visit him and mom sometime in their room in the ER to let them know more.
Please keep him in your prayers. 🙏

*praying* - I wish this board had a prayer reaction in addition to the 'like.'

I'm so sorry to hear this, especially as he had gotten better from before. I will of course pray for him and keep praying for him as long as it is needed.

I send you a lot of strength Rita, what a difficult time, and most importantly trust in God, never despair, God has you and your family in his arms. In the Blessed Mother, I send you all my support and count on my prayers.

My parents agreed last night to allowing an SSPX priest to come and give my father Extreme Unction at the hospital just in case he doesn't make it. My parents go to the novus ordo. So this is a big deal.
That being said... My mother just messaged me saying that Dad's vitals are doing a lot better today and that he may be taken out of the ICU and into a recovery ward. If that happens, she said that they probably won't need a priest come out for Extreme Unction.
I am trying to get them to have a priest to come out anyhow because in my mind he could suddenly get worse. Please keep this intention in your prayers.
And that you so much to everyone that has been praying! 😇

There are many stories of Extreme Unction healing people who receive it in addition to the spiritual benefits, so I hope the priest will go to him. Since your father goes to the Novus Ordo, if the priest also brings him communion, he may receive for the first time in years, so that is also a massive benefit to him as well. I will pray again for him in the Rosary.

Update:
My father never ended up leaving the ICU yesterday after all.
Apparently he is losing blood. So, they think that he likely has internal bleeding. They took a CT Scan yesterday and are supposed to let us know the results some time today.
On the bright side, Father Waters from York, PA drove out and gave my Dad last Rites yesterday evening! 😇
(The SSPX wouldn't send one of their priests and suggested asking a novus ordo priest instead.)

I'm really sorry to hear that but glad that Fr Waters was able to help. Can you recommend any Mass Centres near Philadelphia?

Thank you all for your prayers!
I went to the hospital yesterday evening to visit my father. His vitals were stabilized and he was in a normal room. At the same time the doctors have not been able to figure out concretely what caused his episode.
He seemed to be in a lot of pain when I was there and he seemed to want to be alone. So, I didn't stay long.
Yet, at the same time he said he was just working on a bowel movement and thought he might be discharged today.
It was kind of weird and I haven't been able to get it off my mind. I am not really sure what to think. Does this sound like denial or is he maybe actually doing a lot better?

It could be the effects of Extreme Unction which may heal the recipient in addition to the spiritual benefits. It does seem odd that he has improved so quickly, so it may be the reason.

That's great Rita, that Fr. Waters came to him and administered Extreme Unction. Regarding SSPX, what you just wrote only motivates me more to keep up the work on analyzing the 2005 study by Fr. Pierre Marie which SSPX is relying on that forms their belief that the new episcopal consecration rite which almost all Conciliar priests receive their orders from, is certainly valid. I have a lot more coming, just only so much time to get all my research together, along with more research to collect, on this very complex matter.

My mother informed us this afternoon that my father was discharged from the hospital. He is still a bit weak from not being able to eat solid food for several days but he has already been able to walk a bit!
Thank you all so much for the prayers! 😇

@ritamarita I'm really glad that your Father has recovered. Could you please answer my question about Mass centres near Philadelphia? Hi John Lewis, Please forgive my delay in getting back to you. It has been like a whirlwind at our house with the three little boys, helping my parents because of my father's condition and preparing for my husband's parents to visit. I finally had time to look up the local Mass options in your area. The only trustworthy one which I could find within an hour of Philadelphia is a mission of Bishop Sanborn. Queen of All Saints Mission - King of Prussia Alloy by Hilton 301 W. Dekalb Pike | King of Prussia, PA. - Confessions at 9:00 am - Mass at 10:00 am *** I am sorry if this means you weren't able to get to Mass today because I did not respond in time. Hopefully next Sunday. 😇🙏
