I am Kim and I am 57.
I converted to Novus Ordo in 2003 (was raised S Baptist) largely because of EWTN and Project Rachel. I was even a guest on an EWTN show--Life on the Rock in an episode entitled I Regret My Abortion in 2004, but the archives are gone because the priest that interviewed me got somebody preggers. For the last 16 years I have worked as a parish musician (piano/organ/voice) in the most conservative Novus Ordo parishes that I could find according to where my dear agnostic husband's job took us. I knew there were a lot of bad parishes, bad priests, bad bishops, bad schools, but I thought it was was ok as long as I could find a conservative parish.
And then........ Francis happened. I didn't like him from the getgo and when he started persecuting a traditional order (Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate), I began to investigate traditionalism and the Latin Mass and Vatican 2. What a shock.
So now I only receive the sacraments at an independent chapel with a priest in the Thuc line. It has been a difficult transition. We still have 2 in college and my husband has retired so I still maintain a music job at a conservative Novus Ordo parish but I do not receive there.
I have 2 cats, 2 sons, and 1 husband😜. The boys left the Novus Ordo for nothingism when they went to college and my husband (as I mentioned earlier) is an agnostic although once in a blue moon he asks me to pray for him if he's going on a dangerous mountain climb. And we live in a little condo in a Seattle suburb.
My current favorite Saint is Margaret Clitherow who was incredibly brave.

I don't want the ugly sleepy lady one again. Can I be St James the Moor Slayer hacking off a head? Or maybe a little kitten?

Hi Kim! I live in ATL with my family. Welcome to the forum. Who wouldn't like that adorable little kitten? I'd keep that one and I'm a little jealous.

My Dad grew up in Washington near you! In fact your state is also where my parents met! We sometimes go back there occasionally for family reunions and such. What a small world it is!

Aha! Where in Seattle area? I am not sure but the names Tacoma, Toledo, Centralia, Chahalis, and Mount St. Helena are the ones that names I have heard my parents mention besides Seattle... I know that my Dad lived in more than one town at different times, and used to bike up Mount St. Helens at a boy before it blew up. He said that the hummingbirds there used to be so free and wild that if you got in their path they would run into you! After the volcano erupted, he never saw them there again though...
