I have another question regarding the Ukranian Catholic Church. I have been looking over the Church's bulletins and I cannot find anything about confession or confession times. I went to confession there once at Lent. Is Lent the only time they have confessions, or are confessions by appointment? Usually they are fifteen minutes before liturgy. But simply ask the Priest when...dont be shy.

Could a Roman Rite Priest ordained in the Roman Rite after Vatican II transfer to the Eastern Rite without being ordained in the Eastern Rite?? (Hope this makes sense!?) 🤔

Could a Roman Rite Priest ordained in the Roman Rite after Vatican II transfer to the Eastern Rite without being ordained in the Eastern Rite?? (Hope this makes sense!?) 🤔 None of the eastern rites have ever (publicly) challenged the validity of the Paul VI consecration and ordination rites, so yes, in theory it's possible. In practice, however, I have never heard of a case. If a "Novus Ordo" priest switched rites, it would be a tremendous burden to learn a new language and rites, along with the fact that Roman rite priests are better paid and taken care of, as most eastern Catholics parishes are not wealthy or large. The natural motivation for them would be to stay put. Also, many men who do switch rites do so they can be married and be a priest. They do so as a way around the Roman rite discipline. Eastern Catholics do not allow those already ordained to get married, so a man already "ordained" would not be motivated to change rites for this reason. What you are likely to come across in the Ukrainian rite are Roman rite men that switched rites as laymen, and then became ordained as priests in the eastern rite they switched to, and every case I am aware of, they were then ordained and married in the eastern rite they joined.

(Everything is so complicated!)😬 yes he can say the NO or the Latin Mass. I know personally that he despises the NO mass (although he isnt a sede or specifically a Trad) compared to the Divine Liturgy (duuuh) and interestingly he is of Italian descent not Slavic or Ukrainian

How and why did the Ukranian and Eastern Rite Churches escape having Vatican II and the Novus Ordo? They didnt escape as you put it. Ironically vat2 promoted the East yo become "more Traditional" wich meant becoming more like the orthoducks and less like Rome.

It is my understanding that the Eastern Rite didn't have changes to their Rite of ordinations, or Liturgy. Why?

Could you list the order of the Hierarchy in the Ukranian Church as it corresponds to the Hierarchy in the Roman Church?

When receiving Communion in the Ukranian Church do you make the sign of the cross?
