I like almost everything I've heard from Amazing Blondel. They're a progressive rock band with a heavy early music (Middle Ages and Renaissance) influence, and so far I haven't hear anything really objectionable in the lyrics.
Sybille Baier's album The Colour Green is also really touching, and in this day and age it's admirable that the artist decided to concentrate on raising a family instead of pursuing fame (despite her considerable talent).

I like almost everything Thomas Bergersen writes. He and his co-composer, Nick Phoenix, write music for movie trailers under the title "Two Steps from Hell." They have written music for the trailers of some of the biggest modern movies of the last 2 decades.
