My avatar is St. Mary of Egypt. She is a Saint known for her penance. Some time ago, when Voxx and I were discussing the topic of penance he gave me an article about her, so she sprung to mind when I was thinking of an avatar.
(I've lost the link to the article, Voxx. The computer it was on broke. Do you think you could find it and post it so everyone could see it?)

Mine is my coat of arms.
The blue signifies loyalty and truth The yellow/gold signifies generosity The green signifies hope, joy, and loyalty in love.
The image on the top is a pelican vulning, which represents Christ and self-sacrafice The image on the bottom is a tortoise, which represents invulnerability to attack.
I was very pleased when I first learned my coat of arms featured a symbol of Christ.
I’ve also learned that my family motto is “Inter Utrumque”, which means “Between the Two”. I haven’t put much thought or research into the deeper meaning of it yet.

I’ve also learned that my family motto is “Inter Utrumque”, which means “Between the Two”. I haven’t put much thought or research into the deeper meaning of it yet. "Now virtue, like Nature herself, is more accurate and better than any art; virtue, therefore, will aim at the mean. I speak of moral virtue, since it is moral virtue which is concerned with emotions and actions, and it is in these that we have excess and deficiency and the mean. Thus it is possible to go too far, or not far enough in fear, pride, desire, anger, pity, and pleasure and pain generally, and the excess and the deficiency are alike wrong; but to feel these emotions at the right times, for the right objects, towards the right persons, for the right motives, in the right manner, is the mean or the best good, which signifies virtue."

Mine is St Michael. I am very devoted to him for many reasons....but that is a long, involved story that most people wouldn't even believe.

Mine is a fictional Character played by Clint Eastwood called Walt Kowalski from a very intrinsically Catholic movie called Gran Torino...It is in my personal opinion the best movie clint ever made...nowI am not telling anyone else to see it...it has alot of bad language and not so nice scenes...But I think as a personal fallible opinion every Catholic Adult man should see it at least once.

St. Clotilde, first Catholic queen of the Franks, instrumental in her husband Clovis' conversion. In a way, many of us are indebted to her for Catholic Europe, maybe even directly depending on one's ancestry. She was a model wife and queen. She is someone I think many women can pray to and look to as an example.

I've used this same avatar on every forum, I think. I think I even started using it before I became Catholic. I like it because it portrays gentleness, innocence, and an elegance that can only be found in a mother naturally nurturing her child. I also like it because it has a lamb in it, and I love little lambs and goats, and it reminds me of a story when I was younger. My parents raised goats, and it was kidding season. One mother had quadruplets, and one was so frail and weak it didn't have the strength to nurse. It was not going to survive. My parents had so many others to tend to, and it was going to be a runt anyway, so they were going to let nature take it's course. Overwhelmed with pity for the little one, I immediately came to tears, snatched it up in my arms, held it close to the warmth of my chest and ran quickly to the house to thaw out some colostrum that we had stored in the freezer. I poured my every attention into the little goat kid for hours, and by the evening it was kicking it's heels like it's siblings. I was young when that happened, but I think back to it often, and try to remind myself never to lose that motherly, nurturing instinct. The tenderness displayed in this picture makes it my favorite. I also have it hanging in a prominent place in my house.

My avatar is a simple one to explain--I like to read. And I like to read what the Holy Catholic Church teaches.

I love exciting miraculous stories if you ever want to share it! I claim Saint Michael as one of my patron saints also, though I don't have any amazing story to go with it...

I picked this avatar because I really like Victorian era paintings.
This is one of my favorites because it portrays modesty and contemplation, and sort of shows my personality and persona to some degree without it being a actual picture of me.

The painting does seem very representative of the personality and content of your posts. If you were to ever put all your essays together in a book, this picture should be on the cover.
