The following poem was written by a 19 year old English servant girl in the year of 1928.
Lord of pots and pans and things, Since I've not time to be A saint by doing lovely things Or watching late with Thee Or dreaming in the dawn light Or storming Heaven's gates, Make me a saint by getting meals And washing up the plates. Although I must have Martha's hands, I have a Mary mind And when I black the boots and shoes, Thy sandals, Lord, I find. I think of how they trod the earth, What time I scrub the floor, Accept this meditation Lord, I haven't time for more. ________________________________ catholicpoemsandstories.blogspot.com/

Definitely!!! A friend of mine shared it with me, and it completely has my life written all over it! There are so many times I wish that I had time to be more of a Mary, but have to resign myself to being a Martha.

Nice, Mary! :-)
I posted this poem also on another traditional Catholic forum, and they told me they were going to take it off because it had Protestant origins...
The author life seems to be somewhat unknown. Yet, even if it was originally created by someone who was not Catholic, it is very edifying, and contains no errors... So, why would it so bad to post? Just trying to understand...

That seems a little over the top.

If theyre American will they move out because of its protty foundation?

StPaul used Roman roads...the early Church used pagan teaching and philosophys (were they could). This type of ignorant descrimination you described are people who have a limited view of the Power of Christ. on a secular level....Is Shakespeare Catholic?

You have made me feel a lot better now! Some traditional Catholics are so strict! It is for reasons like this that I generally do not go on other forums. Thanks again! :-)

knowledge is that a tomato is a fruit... wisdom is knowing you dont put it in fruit salad. Ive lived by the philosophy that we as trads are behind enemy lines...as such we are given the grace to descern what parts of the enemys supplies we can put to good use. Some trads live like its 1950...and what applied then still applys now (culturally and sociotally speaking)

It is sort of like the Pharisees who laid tough burdens on others... I am so grateful for your ever continued encouragement through the numerous tough times I have had, Voxx. One day I would like very much to meet you and your family. Thanks again and may God bless you! Sincerely, Rita

btw...Im very much aware whoever else may be following this thread that these opinions leave me open to charges of liberalism. I consider those people doing me a few favors. First, they are showing me what I do not want to become as I try to grow in faith and the spiritual life. Secondly, they are showing me that I need to avoid them because they are outing themselves as bad company.

They aren't strict, they are proud. We all have pride, you just unwittingly gave such people the opportunity to expose themselves. It's an ugly face. Rest assured that there was nothing wrong with what you shared. Some people will find scandal in anything. My natural inclination is to further annoy them so they will want to stay away from me. You are nicer than that.
