Whether or not, they are planning such a conclave is one thing, but regardless if it is being planned right now, the new theology that some are espousing could easily lead to that. If the traditionalist bishops are the remaining apostolic successors, and if there are no more cardinals, they have the right of election of a Pope. If anyone has been following Griff Ruby in recent years, he's been publicly advocating for this and has written a book on it, which has influenced people. Either way, for me, it doesn't matter if any of these bishops take it to the next step and elect a "pope." What matters to me as a Catholic, is I will not follow or in any way recommend a false apostolic successor to anyone. If anyone makes this claim falsely, they are a usurper and a schismatic. Catholics must remain with the true successors of the Apostles, and in our times that is not easy to do, as by all appearances they aren't doing anything to lead us, but they who hold these offices are the true successors of Our Lord's Apostles, not men who are consecrated with no offices, or rightful claims to offices in the Church.
Well said.

Its going to make it hard to call yourself a sede...were already blanket condemned as schismatics. Now if they actually pull this stunt ( which the media will lap up and cover with glee...maybe even getting a bergoglio comment about it) It will be twice as hard to hold to Tradition. I would like to look into the "birth history" of some of these movers and shakers...somethings fishy ..like Gefilte fish. Just my thought

Just my thought For myself, I don't want to be called a sede, only a Catholic. The sedevacantist position which I hold is simply that the current claimant isn't pope, but the sede groups have expanded what it means to be a sede into all sorts of novelties and unorthodox positions which I want nothing to do with. It is getting harder to tell Catholics that you hold the sedevacantist position, I agree, as other Catholics might think, and probably do think, that you believe things that you don't, as it's no longer for most a simple matter of not accepting the papal claims of Paul VI onward.

I work hard to just be a Catholic and to avoid team sede as it is counterproductive to be on it when sectarians are in charge.

The only classification I tell people is that I am a "Traditional Catholic" to distinguish from "Novus Ordo Catholic". Everyone seems to understand at least that much even people who aren't Catholic. 😉
