I shouldn't hang out with worldly people, I don't that much as I used to. I have these neighbors that I wouldn't say they're Christian at all. Though they have one Christian picture up, but they pick and choose what they believe with that. So, I guess they're protestants but not really that either. Because in their bedroom it's full of horror movie posters. It's just not healthy to be over there in the first place. So, I'm trying to limit my time over there anyways.
Anyways, when I go over there and just hang out and the kids want to play around. Their parents I don't think would like me to teach them my religion because they don't believe in it, BUT when the little boy is playing around he is always asking what is around my neck. Which is a crucifix, miraculous metal and st dymphna metal on a metal necklace and then my brown scapular. Neither of the kids know what anything is Christian wise. The girl might know a tiny bit, but nothing about Catholicism. The little boy is 3, the girl is 9.
I don't know what I should be telling him to be honest. I try to respect the parents wishes, but should I just not and answer the children's questions honestly just in a child like way for them to understand? I don't even know how to do that to be honest. I just say they're necklaces, but they're not JUST necklaces. But if I told them one is part of a habit, they'd wonder what that is, then they might ask more questions. Which is all fine, but I don't want the parents yelling about "teaching their children my religion". They're very worldly and when the boy asked the first time I didn't know what to say, so the mom answered it's just a necklace.
What would you do?
