I stumbled onto the Acts of the Council of Trent a couple years ago (in Latin):
www.google.com/books/edition/Acta_genuina_Ss_oecumenici_Concilii_Trid/LQ9jAAAAcAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1
I started searching in it for references to baptism of desire, since BOD-rejecters deny that the Council of Trent actually intended to teach BOD . I was going to gather all I could with a key word search (e.g. votum, voto, etc.), and then see if I could find someone to help translate the passages; but I ended up getting too busy with other things, and had to stop working on it. I just remembered it tonight. I thought I'd just start posting what I collected here, and see if anyone can help with the Latin.
To begin, here is the part of Trent's Decree on Justification that teaches BOD, but which all the BOD-rejecters say is teaching that both the sacrament and a desire for it are required for justification.
"Quibis verbis justification impii insinuator, ut sit translatio ab eo statu, in quo homo nascitur filius primi Adae, in statum gratiae et adoptionis filiorum dei per secundum Adam Jesum Christum salvatorem nostrum. Quae quidem translatio post evangelium promulgatum, sine lavacro regenerationis, aut eius voto fieri non potest, sicut scriptum est: Nisi quis renatus..."
pp.280-281
Here is the preparatory version of the same part as recorded in the Acts of The Council of Trent:
"Quibus verbis huius, de qua sermo est justificationis descriptio continetur. Est enim translatio ab eo statu, in quo homo nascitur filius primi adae in statum gratiae et adoptionis filiorum dei per secundum Adam Jesum Christum salvatorem nostrum: quae translatio post evangelium promulgatum lavacro regenerationis, aut eius voto efficitur, sicut scriptum est: Nisi quis renatus etc"
--- Acta Authentica SS. Oecumenici Concilii Tridentini, Tomus I, p.245-246
www.google.com/books/edition/Acta_genuina_Ss_oecumenici_Concilii_Trid/LQ9jAAAAcAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1
This prepartory version is under the section entitled "LOCA APTATA IN DECRETO DE JUSTIFICATIONE JUXTA CENSURAS EX SUPRASCRIPTIS APPROBATAS A DEPUTATIS", which is something like, "Passages prepared for the Decree of Justification according to the judgments from the aforementioned esteemed deputies"
Here are translations of the bolded parts of the two versions, with the a noticeable difference bolded and underlined:
Final: "And this translation, since the promulgation of the Gospel, cannot be effected, without the laver of regeneration, or the desire thereof"
Preparatory: "this translation, since the promulgation of the gospel, is effected by the laver of regeneration, or the desire thereof"
The translation of the final version is just the common translation, which I copied and pasted from www.thecounciloftrent.com/ch6.htm
The translation of the preparatory version is my translation, using various online tools and such. Is my translation of this accurate?
I'll post some of my other findings when I can.
