I may never return to the DL with these bishops in charge...even the Priests seem unbelieving in the real presence Yeah... It is sad but the DL had its own version of the novus ordo revolution... I am just grateful that I got to see it as a child in its beauty before it was changed... I was shocked as a teenager seeing the differences... Haven't really been back since except for the funeral liturgy of the priest who gave me my First Holy Communion/Confirmation/Confession. Oh, and Voxx, I have been meaning to ask... Maybe you or Pacelli know the answer to this: Father Constantine was the name of the priest who gave me the sacraments when I was 6, 23 years ago. Someone I know was also confirmed by him but when they became a traditional Catholic they were conditionally confirmed. I hadn't really thought there was an issue with the Byzantine Confirmations, but maybe you both know something that can set my mind at peace?

Rita, I am not aware of any defect that would affect validity in any eastern rite, for any sacrament, including confirmation. There are other issues at play, but none that affect validity. So long as the priest's holy orders came from the eastern rites, and there is by that no issue with his holy orders, then the sacramental rites used by him would be valid.

That is what I thought but what my friend said about being conditionally confirmed made me a bit concerned and I am not as familiar with the Eastern Rite. Thank you for setting my mind at peace about the issue! ☺️

I was confirmed at baptism My youngest brother was also confirmed at baptism the same day I received my First Holy Communion and Confirmation! We had 10 family sacraments all together that day! So, the Feast of the Annunciation has always been special in our family. We were only Byzantine for about 2 years and I was 6-8 so I only remember so much though. 😅
