"WAS THE APOSTLE JOHN A CHILD? I believe there's evidence in the Bible that the apostle John was actually a child during Jesus' ministry and that Jesus was essentially functioning as a father over John for whatever reason. 1) He rests on Jesus' chest at a meal. (Like my sons do me sometimes.) 2) He's always running and apparently really fast. (Grown men rarely run for anything but exercise and my boys are always running.) 3) Peter asks Jesus specifically about what will happen to John. Almost as to say "Who's going to take care of the kid if You're gone Jesus.) 4) Jesus performs an adoption from the cross between Mary and John. It seems Jesus is handing over His guardianship over John to Mary to raise John and then for the future adult John to care for Mary. 5) John lives much later than all the other apostles".( from fb....I didnt write this)

A lot of good points here Voxx. I think that you are not far from the truth. Saint John is always depicted as a young man without a beard while all the rest of the apostles are older and had beards. I think that the idea is that while he was not a very young child. It would make sense that he was certainly a youth somewhere in what we now call the teenage years. In those days though he would already have been considered a young man at that age I think. ☺️

Charles Columbe chimed in that it's a reasonable theory EXCEPT there is no opinion like this in any of the Fathers....so I guess...skip?
