Today I woke up got dressed, said morning prayers with my husband, had breakfast and coffee with him and then packed him his lunch and walked him to the door to wish him a good first day for his new job at Quantico. I spent the remainder of the morning reading (first time in awhile!) since I came down with bad carpal tunnel in my right hand/arm and have had to take a break from sewing and projects that require a lot of hand movement. The book is called "The Wife Desired" by Leo J. Kinsella. It is a GREAT book and I think that if more women read it with an open mind and heart they might save their marriages and/or have happier ones. It was a gift a friend gave me at my bridal shower which I didn't a good opportunity to read until now. Still haven't finished it, but DEFINITELY recommend it to those of you who might be interested! After lunch I went grocery shopping. Had to think a lot about the list and get more food than normal because my husband's parents, brother, and grandmother are coming to visit this weekend. My sister Teresa is holding a baby shower for us, and though my family have manh grandchildren, this will be the first on my husband's side. So, his family are SUPER thrilled and excited! 😊 After grocery shopping, then everything had to be organized and put away. Took awhile and afterwards I was exhausted. So, I sat down and read some more of the book as mentioned above until my husband called me om his way home from work. We prayed the rosary over the phone and then I made dinner. After dinner, I soaked my hands/ to help with the carpal tunnel and well, that is about as far as I have gotten. Not much left to today. 😋😉 I read that book last year. It's good! Do you have braces for your carpel tunnel, Rita? I had it bad during my first pregnancy and that is the only thing that would help me! I got them from Walmart. My husband and I were actually doing research and JUST got a brace from Walmart on Monday! I also stopped all sewing/knitting projects for a couple days. Between the two doing much better now! Thank you!😁 Did you get carpal tunnel for your following pregnancies or just the first one, Jen?

will that book make wifes ashamed or inspired. My wife wants to do right but some books seem to push an unattainable ideal...or are scolding. I love and adore my wife but neither of us were raised in any traditional setting...so sometimes we feel broken beyond repair when we read about "perfect" husbands and wives. It is not a book only stating "this is an ideal wife", but more simple practical applications for any woman. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I din't think it would turn her off. I found it very inspiring rather than unreachable. I was raised in a more feminist novus ordo kind of culture. So, I understand completely about things being to lofty to reach. 😊

[quote author=" RitaMarita" Did you get carpal tunnel for your following pregnancies or just the first one, Jen?[/quote] Yes, only my first. Also, when I got to 36 weeks it abruptly disappeared. It was a welcome relief! So glad to hear you are doing better with it!

Thank you, Jen!
It is encouraging to know it is possible not to have to deal with carpal all the time for every pregnancy! 😁
My husband's family came out to VA and spent the weekend with us in order to go to the baby shower my sister hosted for me on Saturday and to see the new house. It was great seeing everyone, but a LOT of work getting the three spare bedrooms (two in the basement) finished enough for people to stay in, putting together all the matresses, bedding, meals and hosting everyone. My carpal tunnel got a bit worse from the over use of my hands and wrists over the weekend, but still DEFINITELY better than before I had the brace.
I am looking forward very much to a time when it is completely better. 😉

I am watching my sister 2 y.o. girl for a few days next week (she and her husband are getting away for a short vacation before they have their 2nd child in June) but other than that things should be slowing down socially and with hosting people until our baby is born. I am guessing I will need the catch up on sleep and everything to prepare for baby. Only between 4-6 weeks to go now!

I'm a night owl, so my day started before I went to bed, lol. I did some laundry and looked online and played a mobile game. Then went to bed. Woke up pretty late in the morning, went to a yard sale, drove a bit of a distance to give away my Father's clothing to this older lady to give to her son that just recently got Married. Said the Joyful Mysteries in the car driving back home. Finished my dishes, made Saturday Dinner; I can't eat it today . Now, just online playing around and learning a few things. I wish I did more things interesting, haha.

Got up, made breakfast for the kids, Put a movie on for the kids while I ran to the Post Office to mail my ReCall Gov. papers:) Came home, did school, got lunch ready, dishes, put kids down for a nap, more school, dropped kids off to fish, made bread and cream cheese coffee cake and supper, wasted time off and on on computer, dishes, laundry throughout the day, picked tomatoes, made kids chase chickens out of garage throughout the day, had supper, prayed Rosary, read to the kids, snack for kids before bed, now getting kids ready for bed.
