At the risk of opening up a can of worms or arousing a hornets' nest.... Anyone here a flat earther? I seem to have a fair few Facebook friends who are that way inclined. (I'm not, but I'm just curious what the good folks here think.)

It’s ok to bring this up. It is the latest nonsense being put forward by those who think they can privately interpret the Bible and Catholic teaching, and then seek to bind Catholics to their new privately formed ideas. The problem these folks have is that they no longer think like Catholics, who trust the Church and learn from Her, as a sheep who follows a shepherd. During this crisis in the Church, the correct position on these type of matters is to stay clear of them and if you have ideas such as this, to not act on them, and instead wait for the pastors of the Church return, and put forth these questions to them, and trust them when they answer you. I see these types of problems only getting worse over time, the longer this crisis continues. New ideas keep forming, that may have apparent support from Scripture, the Fathers, or other sources. Catholics should know, however, that matters of theology are often complex, not simple, and it is for the living pastors of the Church, most importantly the Pope, to safeguard the Sacred Deposit of Faith. The Church, ruled over by countless Popes and the bishops in union with them, for hundreds of years has allowed Catholics to believe that the world was round, not flat. This alone should be an immediate red flag as to this new idea. It is very important for Catholics to not be taken in by theological charlatans who come up with these ideas, and attempt to prove them using their interpretation of primary source documents, and then expect Catholics to learn from and believe them as to those interpretations. These charlatans, who discover these new truths based on their own ideas and interpretations, or supported by some obscure writings of the fathers, only further divide Catholics and harm the unity of the Church. The underlying root of the people who believe this and other such ideas, Feeneyism, the Rhythm method matter, etc., is that they are implicitly denying that the Church is ruled over by living pastors, the Popes and the Bishops, who are commissioned by Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who teach us, so that we may not fall astray. I am fully aware of our current crisis in the Church, so I would urge Catholics to simply look back to what the Church taught or universally allowed to be taught on matters of Faith or morals prior to this crisis. If some new crisis in belief emerges, such as this, trust the Church as is existed prior to the crisis, and if you need more assurance, collect all of the information on the matter and submit it to your local bishop or Rome once the crisis ends. Don’t go further than that, or you risk embracing error, dividing Christ’s flock, and creating yet another new schism or sect.

I think its a psychological brainwashing test being foisted by the social media rulers. A test to see how their 75 year agenda of creating a world of sheeple for them to rule...ultimately to create the conditions necessary for the great deceptions of antichrist. Flat earth...boarding...tide pod eating...mandella effect...black dress white dress...the audio thing (i forget). Its all part of the psychological subjugation of the masses. The internet is a weaponised Manchurian candidate machine.
