Someone mentioned this group on FB to me...ever heard of it? Looks interesting. peteradvincula.org/As far as I can tell, it seems like a real traditional movement. Though I could not seem to find out much about, Bp. Joseph Macek, one of their Bishops and his lineage. The only info I found was people contesting his lineage. Maybe someone else knows more than I do.

Voxx, I am very suspicious of these type of groups. The information on the website is sketchy at best. Who are their bishops and priests, and where did their orders come? Many of these groups derive their orders through Palmarian, Old Catholics, or lines that trace back to the excommunicated Brazilian bishop, Duarte Costa. All of these sources of orders, in my opinion, are not trustworthy, as there are too many unanswered questions. For myself, I would have nothing to do with them.

Well it was mentioned on fb by a friend. We'll see if we can flesh out more...heck what else do we have to do around here? I agree, it’s good to get the information, it does help people. I can’t tell you how many people over the years ask or write me to get information about bishops, priests or groups. The fact that website was not fortehcoming about the names of the bishops and priests and where their orders come from is a major red flag.

FTR, the group in question is not a priestly religious organization, but a "guild" which can be joined by laity or clergy. The guild's purpose, as the website says, is the promotion of the traditional Catholic faith. I believe-- although there is nothing on the website to unequivocally confirm this-- that the guild was started and is maintained by Fr. Bernard Hall. I base this on the fact that the website promotes Infant of Prague Chapel, where Fr. Hall is the resident priest. peteradvincula.org/prague-chapelFr. Hall's orders come from Bishop Paul Petko. Petko's orders come from the late Bishop Francis Slupski. Slupski, as many may be aware, was not especially rigorous in selecting consecrands, nor was he always especially rigorous in documenting the facts of episcopal consecrations he performed. In the case of Petko, I know there are some who are perfectly satisfied with his orders (and therefore his ability to ordain). Others are not so. I don't have a strong opinion on the matter as I've not studiously delved into the Slupski-Petko lineage (mainly for lack of personal applicability). If faced with the opportunity, one might wish to dig a little deeper to reach moral certainty that the consecration is an established fact.
