Rita- Please let us know the date as it approaches, so we can keep you in our prayers! Hi Barbara, The date of our wedding is June 30th. A funny fact is that it ended up being on the feast of the Commemoration of St. Paul, which outranks the readings for a Nuptial Mass. So, Father will have to wear red vestments and we will have to have a side sheet of paper with those readings. But they are SO APPROPRIATE for us because my family novus ordo! EPISTLE (Gal. 1:11-20) Brethren: For I give you to understand that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For neither did I receive it of man: nor did I learn it but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. For you have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion: how that, beyond measure, I persecuted the church of God and wasted it. And I made progress in the Jew's religion above many of my equals in my own nation, being more abundantly zealous for the traditions of my fathers. But when it pleased him who separated me from my mother's womb and called me by his grace, to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles: immediately I condescended not to flesh and blood. Neither went I to Jerusalem, to the apostles who were before me: but I went into Arabia, and again I returned to Damascus. Then, after three years, I went to Jerusalem to see Peter: and I tarried with him fifteen days. But other of the apostles I saw none, saving James the brother of the Lord. Now the things which I write to you, behold, before God, I lie not. GOSPEL (Matt. 10:16-22) At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, "Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves. But beware of men. For they will deliver you up in councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues. And you shall be brought before governors, and before kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles: But when they shall deliver you up, take no thought how or what to speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what to speak: For it is not you that speak, but the spirit of your Father that speaketh in you. The brother also shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the son; and the children shall rise up against their parents and shall put them to death. And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved."
God is good! I am always amazed how He TOTALLY works everything out for the best when we trust everything to Him!!!

Rita- Thank you for letting us know the date; I have marked it on the calendar. While reading your post a "bead" popped up, so I prayed it for you.

Thank you everyone for all the prayers! Everything was a bit crazy until the night before. One of the servers had a rock thrown at him at the rehearsal which hit his head. Everyone was busy helping him and cleaning up the blood on the pavement right outside the entrance to the building that by the time that was done everyone who was going to help set up tables left. So, Andrew and I ended up laying out table cloths, plates, cups, utensils, and Mass Booklets all by ourselves until 11:30 pm the night before the wedding. I am just grateful that the wound for the boy was only a flesh wound. He went home, slept and still served the next day for our nuptial high Mass. The day of the wedding itself went really well. I am grateful. And then my little brother got married the next Saturday. So, things have been REALLY CRAZY BUSY! Due to the stress and everything, my immune system is a bit shot, so I now have Strep. So, please keep us in your prayers! SO GLAD it is all done though!

Oh, and since I am no longer unmarried, my new pen/profile name is "Rita Marita". Then, when we have kids I can be called "Rita Ma Rita" or "Rita Grandma Rita". My confirmation name is Marie anyhow. So, kind of pulling it from there as well in honor of Our Blessed Mother.

Thanks! It was originally priced at about $1400 in Great Britain, but I managed to get it for $300 including shipping! Apparently they had some sort of sale because it had minor defects (which I was able to fix) and no one seemed to want a modest wedding dress. I don't think I could have bought just the material for about that much to make it myself! God supplies!!!

Thanks for the pics, Rita! After reading your account of the events surrounding your wedding, I can only imagine you were running on fumes by the end. I'm so happy for you. May God grant you many years of wedded bliss.

May God grant you many years of wedded bliss. Lol... Yes, actually... We were SO exhausted that the honeymoon was more of a rest and recoup than anything else. Maybe that is one of the reasons why they exist.
