my wife has been in the hospital for her eating disorder for a week now. she collapsed at work, went from cardiology floor, now her heart is a little more stable (her heart rate was dangerously low and her weight is dangerously low) so she is at an eating disorders clinic on bed rest, then tomorrow she is going to the other part of the unit where they have therapy and stuff. she s having a really difficult time with it and this is my worst nightmare and her worst nightmare. Or at least one of the worst nightmares. that being said we're surviving. i think this is harder for me than when i am in the hospital. she cant have her rosary or her scapular or anything people can use to strangle themselves/others.
it's a good hospital and i think that her doctor and the staff are all very nice and caring and it actually has the potential to be a healing experience for her, but she's refusing to talk to anyone because i think she's very scared and anxious. this place is a lot nicer than any other place she's been (she has had multiple hospitalizations in the past for eating disorders)
please pray that her time here can be as short as God allows and she can get to a point where she's safe to go home as soon as possible.
