I taught a class on quickbreads today, so lots of breads. What's your favorite kind? I like biscuits and coffee cake. For the class we made pancakes, biscuits, scones, cheesebread and muffins.

This is a great thread! It is neat to hear what everyone likes to make to eat!!! Last Thursday I baked a roast and made mashed potatoes, gravy and a salad to go on the side! I love roast when it is so tender that it falls apart as you cut it up!

Last night deer steak, mashed potatoes and beans. The deer steak was very good. My husband grilled the butterfly chops with some seasonings. My son shot his first deer this year, a 10 point buck.

I've been working on clearing out the freezer a bit and so I did some odds and ends on the smoker: short ribs, pork ribs, and beef ribs. We are having baked potato and macaroni and cheese with a locally made Gouda.

Sausage, eggs and pancakes. yesterday I was caught off guard by forgetting to plan for no meat so I found these two recipes that I had all the ingredients for. www.cookingforkeeps.com/creamy-pumpkin-and-cheddar-scalloped-potatoes/salu-salo.com/garlic-parmesan-spaghetti-squash/The potatoes had good flavor, but it needed more sauce, even though I used more than the recipe called for. I used half Gouda and half cheddar. The spaghetti squash was alright, but too much garlic for me.

Bolognese sauce with extra for the freezer and garlic knots. When we want to give my wife a break, my boys and I make this and it is a big hit. Not sure if we make it well or she is just so glad she didn't have to make it. But it is so cute how my 8 yr old gets into it.

We had chicken quesdillas. I was out for most of the evening running errands so I cooked everything and left the fillings ready for my family to make their own. Everyone liked it and I got all of my things done in one day!
