In 1954, Pope Pius XII became very ill, had lost a weight from 145 to 105 pounds, and his death appeared imminent and was expected. On December 1st, as the Pope was praying in his bed, Our Lord Jesus Christ came to him in a vision standing by his bedside. It was after this vision, that the Pope miraculously regained his health and once again vigorously ruled the Church until his death which came in October, 1958. The following, Chapter 21, "The Vision," is taken from: Crown of Glory, The Life of Pope Pius XII, Hatch & Walshe, New York, 1958, Memorial Edition, pp. 227-235. Imprimatur Joseph P Donahue, October 18, 1958. PDF of entire chapter 21, "The Vision" linked in PDF: HERE
