jen51, you asked what type of bulbs. I have Tiger and Day Lillies (a pink and yellow variety) and Alcea, plus some dahlia bulbs that did not make it into the ground last year. I'm going to have to research to see if I can still use them. They look ok. I also noticed I have some fall bulbs leftover so I will try to plant them in November, I guess. I wanted to to do a grape vine and some nut trees but our yard is not very sunny. Yet. I'm hoping to take care of that but it is a big expense.

Dahlia's are gorgeous. I would like to plant some as well. This fall I'm planning on planting some tulips. I've got my eye on these. Today my MIL gave me a butterfly bush, so I'll get that in the ground tomorrow. I got 8 rhubarb plants today as well. I won't be able to harvest off of those for a couple years, but that'll fly by. I got rhubarb for wine making. We're fortunate when it comes to nut trees around here. We have walnuts, hickories, and pecan trees growing every where wild so we don't bother cultivating them. Same with mulberry trees. We started a couple apple trees last year, and this fall we'll plant some pear and peach trees. Maybe a couple cherry trees. Got 60 tomato plants in the ground today.

I love how traditional Catholics tend to be more into gardening, natural foods, and outdoor activities!
I love lilies! One of our neighbors gave me some yellow lilies and hostas to add to my garden last year when I started it.
Rubarb is SO HARD to get growing! We tried it a number of times and failed, but finally the it worked, and now we have more than we can eat and harvest! I love butterfly bushes! I have had trouble getting them to establish properly at our place though... I think this was partly due to the summer being so hot and the winter being so cold last year...
