I was thinking about this question a few days ago and then someone brought it up, implying that only the Baptized have a guardian angel. So, sources? Thoughts. If this is not settled, is there a difference in thought on this topic between various rites?

Seems like that isn’t completely settled and there is still varying opinion. St. Thomas gave his reason as that the soul joins the body shorty before birth, but my understanding is that it happens at conception. If a baby is considered part of the mother’s body and under the domain of her guardian angel, I can see how birth could be when an angel is assigned.
I’m wondering what the evidence is for the other opinions.
