At the new house we bought there is a large inground pool which is maybe 30 or 40 years old and has not been maintained. There are cracks in the foundation and the pumps are a mess and probably from the 80's. The cost of fixing the pool is thousands of dollars (beyond our budget) for fixing the house. We don't really want the danger or work of having to maintain a pool with my being pregnant and us soon to be having little ones running around. So, we have decided to fill in the pool and make a garden out of it.
Anyone ever tried this before?
Any thoughts or suggestions for how to keep it as at a lower cost for filling it in?
Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks! 😊

before you fill it in make sure to break up the bottom in thorough fashion to allow for drainage...if you can afford it...put a layer of 2-4" stone at bottom before filling with dirt...again to help with drainage. Other than that seems like a splendid use of a useless pool.
